Description
Summary:Box 5 Folder 39: "This is folder 39 from 1969 which has within it various applications to the FCC to make changes to the tower and to increase power from 23kw to 100kw for WJLN 104.7. It includes the direct application, also notices that needs to be read on the air. "The officers, directors, and ten percent or more of the stockholders of Johnston Broadcasting Company are the estate of George Johnston Jr., Rose Hood Johnston, George Johnston III, and Mattie Jones." Does appear there were over three generations of Johnstons. I’m not sure if George Johnston was the first. I believe he was the first one to own the station, but I’m not sure. Correspondence found in WJLD files."
